Feisty Little Animals - Team Polarize

Critiques (on writing especially but also on lighting) would be appreciated! And if you see any spelling/grammar mistakes, do tell X3
Kind of a filler chapter, but it'll be important later on!

Andy directed Johnny and Oliver towards one first building. He was holding a memo pad that was almost as big as Johnny himself, and a quill that could have very well been a Sneasel’s dried feather, judging by its size, a detail that didn’t escape Oliver’s attention.

“These are the first men whose team we’re going to put down. Please go first, there’s no reason for them to be hostile towards us. Possibly if they see I am accompanied by young Pokémon they’ll even be friendly.”
Andy’s firm gaze fixed on his back, Johnny knocked on the door, which bore a wooden plaque reading the words “Team Outer Core – Rescuers”. Some voices could be heard from inside. “Bring her to the back. TO THE BACK!” Followed by the noise of somebody trotting hurriedly on the wooden floor. Johnny pushed the door slightly and noticed it was open. Inside was a bulky Excadrill (a very big one as he could see, bigger than most members of its species), turned towards a backdoor. A tiny Blitzle emerged from the darkness of the backdoor and the two muttered something to each other.

Andy pushed the door so that it slammed open and the two Pokémon were distracted from their conversation. Both of them looked at Johnny and Oliver, and at the large Golurk standing right behind them. The Excadrill was truly big, and he looked quite old and hardened, his fur dusty with sand, while the Blitzle was obviously young. “What is it?” The Excadrill growled. “Can you not read the sign right outside the building? We’re not in service now. This better be good!” He added, baring his sharp teeth. The Blitzle didn’t say a word, but he kept staring at the strangers and sulking.

“Er. – Johnny didn’t really know how to put it –You see, the problem here is that, um, I’m sure you know that, but Jury has awoken and he wants… eh, he wants all groups like you gone.”

The Excadrill bared his fangs again and the sound of one of his claws scraping on the floor could be heard, although the exact action that produced the noise was hidden by the desk the two Pokémon were standing behind. He squinted (the bright light from outside was disturbing his darkness-adapted eyes) to take a better look at the intruders. “I don’t have the patience to deal with this. ” He muttered, under his breath. The Blitzle placed his front hooves on the desk, standing on two legs. “This is impossible- he said, trying to keep a jolly tone even though he was clearly dead serious –We’ve been workin’ here for a while now, ya see. This is just what we do, we got nowhere else to go!”

Oliver looked at Andy. He was starting to get a bad feeling from this situation, and he hoped the clay automaton would react to the Blitzle’s words. But Andy’s eyes remained fixed on the members of Team Outer Core, expressionless as he made notes without even looking at the paper. The Sneasel hazarded some words, getting closer to the desk: “Look man, we understand the situation ain’t easy but-” The Excadrill suddenly adopted a more upright stance and slammed his enormous shovel-like claws on the desk’s surface, leaving a significant dent as the wood bent under the blow. “YOU cannot dismiss US! Team Outer Core! We’ve been serving the city for so long- oh, Arceus only knows how many criminals we’ve caught and secured! Dozens! From petty thieves to real fucking murderers! And THIS is finally how you repay us! By dismissing us like the lowest gang in town! After all these years!” He coughed, seemingly breathing hot sand.

This display was enough to frighten Oliver to no end, and he scuttled back behind Johnny. “Ahh Johnny I think it’s better if you do this, aha ahaha” he murmured, pulling his own hair down. “You coward.” Johnny commented.
The Blitzle hastily placed a chair behing the Excadrill just in time for his heavy back to land on it, as the old Pokémon let his body go, seemingly tired. “After all these years. I cannot believe it…” He took a deep breath. “What about Jim?- he pointed to the young Blitzle –He’s too young! I was training him…”

Andy put his quill down. “Justice knows no age, my friend.” He commented.

The Excadrill got up again and with a quick blow of his right hand he hit the floor. The entire room trembled as the wooden planks that made up the pavement were smashed by the Earthquake attack he produced. Oliver sprinted out of the building and threw himself in the firm sand, while Johnny instinctively grabbed Andy’s leg. Andy himself, however, stood still in the same spot where he’d been for the whole time. Jim and his old partner took advantage of this moment to disappear through the back door.

Oliver felt the hot sand, moving his claw slightly. The ground had stopped shaking. Even with the enhanced hearing of his left ear, he couldn’t hear any more vibrations. He got up, dusted off his fur and limped back in. He noticed with great disappointment that the planks that snapped under his feet when he was near the desk had sent an uncourteous splint right in his left paw. Using his left hand as a lever, he painfully made his way back to the entrance of the now ruined building. Johnny was safe. The ceiling had collapsed onto Andy’s head and completely blocked the back door, but he didn’t seem fazed at all. He made a quick note on his sheet. “Feisty little animals, aren’t they?”

For June Tasks, +1 point for aiding Andy in dismissing vigilantes groups, but it's not over yet!
