Johnny was displeased. Their departure from Andalusst had been slow and full of distractions and interruptions, and now here they were, having to travel in the nighttime, through a forest. He’d done it before, but he’d always found it better to avoid such situations when possible. He figured, however, that he could not really complain about walking in the dark, after they’d come out of that city alive and well. He almost wished they could have stayed to witness the end of that giant statue’s rampage, but he did not miss its hulking, lumbering silouhette blocking the horizon. Yes, trees were better.

Terry observed them. They’d come to a fork in the road. Both paths led to University Town, albeit one descended deeper into the forest before emerging again.

“Which one did we pick when we left?” The Quilava asked to nobody in particular.

Oliver massaged his chin with his large Sneasel claws. “Hard to tell in the dark, I guess.”

“Both will take us to Ebark though, is that right?”

“I recall somebody sayin’ that.”

“When I left, though I wasn’t with you guys- the Luxio confirmed- I was following another group of students and they did say both would be correct.”

“Well then!- Johnny shrugged –which one?”

Oliver spent a few seconds searching for something in the bag they’d received, until he managed to grab one piece of Star between the tips of his two claws. “Head’s for left, star’s for right!”

Thus, just as Terry had predicted, they ended up on the path that would have led them down below. He remembered his boss debriefing him and his comrades about something horrifying he’d found in the lower levels of the dungeon, the ones deep into the forest. The Gliscor was always very matter-of-factly when he spoke, even when he went into gruesome details about his findings. Usually they were nothing really scary- but every now and then, a bandit would be found dead. This had become more frequent in recent times, which had led the Guilds of Ebark to enforce a curfew upon the residents, after which it wouldn’t have been possible to leave the city, only to get in, provided you were able to show some form of identification. The rule, for what the Night Guards were concerned, was easy: do not let wanderers venture too deep. So, if the travellers kept themselves to the main paths, and didn’t sway towards the side routes, it would have been alright.

Looks lovely!^^
But... Olly, you are a Dark-type. "Hard to tell in the dark"? You are kinda supposed to be able to see just fine during night. At least, I think so...?
